Number Sense Tutoring

Hello. This is Michael Baskin and I am Number Sense Tutoring. I am a retired high school math teacher who has been tutoring kids on-line from elementary grades through high school for the last 9 years.

Math is NOT about memorizing a bunch of disconnected facts and formulas. Math iS about discovery and how numbers are connected via strategies not processes. At any point one has the necessary skills to figure out any math problem IF they only knew about these strategies to help them SEE the math.

I am much more than just a tutor. I am a coach and counsellor who works with your child to build their confidence and lead them meet the challenges math presents.

Many of my students have been with me for years growing and applying the strategies and patterns of math to more abstract math studied in high school.

I love helping kids achieve success with math and overcome the challenges it offers. It is very satisfying to me when the light comes on and a student "gets it", just as it did for me.
