I am a Math teacher with 33 years of teaching experience. I have worked with children and adults of all ages and all different Math abilities. I have taught summer school as well and have tutored many kids who need the help as well as many students who were looking into getting into accelerated math.
I just love working with kids and hellping them to understand Math and gain confidence in Math. I find that when I have tutored kids, they feel much better about the concepts they were struggling with and they gain a lot more confidence in themselves and Math. It is always fun and rewarding to find different ways for my students to enjoy math and to be successful in math.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Find out what they already know and then build their skills off of what they already know. Show different methods to help them understand the concepts they are struggling with. By providing practice and positive reinforcement , they will not only understand what they were struggling with but will feel better and gain more confidence in their Math abilities.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My whole career of teaching over 30 years, along with my own experiences tutoring over the years as well as summer school teaching.

I take Venmo and I charge 50/ hr in person or online.
How did you get started teaching?
I always only wanted to be a teacher ever since I was little! I went to SUNY Fredonia and earned my Bachelor's Degree and then went onto Suny Brockport for my Master's Degree.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of students and adults as well throughout my teaching career. I have worked with RTI students who need extra support in Math as well as gifted and accelerated students. I have tutored a variety of students with different Math abilities as well ranging from those that want to accelerate to those who just need a better understanding of the concepts covered in Math class. My experience has involved working with the gifted student as well as students receiving special educational services.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
No question is a dumb question! Never be afraid to ask questions and if you have to ask again because you still do not understand- Ask!!
