Hello, my name is Nadia Menezes and I am the Assistant Center Director of Mathnasium of Webster. I have worked with Mathnasium for over 4 years and feel incredibly passionate about the service we provide. I believe a solid foundation in math is vital to your student's future. At Mathnasium, we aren't just improving skills, grades and confidence, we are broadening the landscape of your student's opportunities!
Mathnasium is a math-only Learning Center where passionate, professionally trained instructors work directly with students to achieve their goals, whether they want to catch up or get ahead. Our program combines homework help, test preparation and a personalized curriculum that adheres to Common Core State Standards.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We begin with a tour of the center and an assessment that is ability appropirate. The assessment is no-risk, meaning you can see how your student performed even if you decide not to sign up.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every Mathnasium instructor has substantial math in their background - either they are a certified teacher, have a Bachelors or Masters in a math-related field, or are working towards completing a math-related degree. In order to be hired, Mathnasium instructors must pass a challenging math exam that exhibits their skills, must pass a background check, and must prove during an observation session that they can teach students grades K through 12. Instructors receive ongoing training to ensure they comply with Mathnasium standards.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our pricing varies based on the contract length that is selected. We offer 3, 6 and 12 month contracts and each contract offers 10 hours of personalized instruction per month. Please feel free to contact us for specific pricing.
What types of students have you worked with?
Primarily, we work with students grades K through 12. On occassion, we have worked with college level students or adult learners.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Every year around October we host the Trimathlon, a national competition hosted at nearly every Mathnasium Learning Center in the United States. Students grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 compete in a variety of activities and everyone receives a participation award and prizes, while the winners of each grade level receive medals and the chance to compete nationally!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a tutor in your area of expertise?
Consider that most students aren't struggling for the first time. Mathnasium doesn't like to take a 'band-aid' approach and just focus on fixing the current problem, we will take a comprehensive approach that considers all aspects. We like to dig deeper to uncover and address the underlying foundational misunderstandings that lead to the confusion in the first place, while simultaneously helping with homework and tests to improve grades and confidence!
