I am an experienced teacher/tutor who is available to work with students either one-on-one or in small groups. I primarily tutor SAT, ACT, TEAS, middle-school math, algebra I, geometry, and Regents biology. Because I am a self-employed individual, I am not bound to follow a corporate academic program. I tailor every lesson to the needs of the individual student, and my business philosophy is to treat every student as if he or she were our only student.
My qualifications include a B.A. in English from the University of Rochester, as well as a B.S. in Biology and D.P.M. medical degree from Scholl College in Chicago.
I love seeing students build confidence and finding success!

I spend some time getting to know the student and asking about the student's needs. If the student is requesting prep for a standardized test such as SAT, ACT, or TEAS, I usually spend the majority of the initial session reviewing strategies. If the student is struggling academically, I ask the student to discuss areas of struggle or provide homework or tests with material the student has found to be difficult. If the student is requesting tutoring in order to excel or challenge a Regents exam (e.g.), I propose an individualized program that will enable the student to reach his or her goals.
I hold a BA in English from the University of Rochester and BS Biology and DPM (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine) from Scholl College in Chicago, Illinois. I currently teach math at a private high school, and my past experience includes teaching English in a private high school.
My standard fee is $40/hour.
