About
Many students don't learn well under the current institutional way of teaching used at schools today. I work with students one on one to understand concepts from first principals. I believe in knowing how the pieces move under the table rather than just knowing the names of pieces.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first start by getting a general stance of where they are in their current understanding. In the same time I'm trying to understand how the student looks and thinks about things. Are they visual? Do they love metaphors? Are they abstract thinkers or more analytical?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My father was a computer scientist and so I learned all these concepts at a young age and further self studied all that interested me. I started programming in the 4th grade and started making minecraft servers for me and my friends to play on. I'm now currently more interested in the algorithmic side of computer science and have started down a long path of mastery of mathematics and abstractification.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I'm still fairly new to the tutoring side of things, only working with family friends and their kids. I would be open to any offers and negotiations.
How did you get started teaching?
Ever since a teenager my mother always told me I'm great with kids and that I should get into teaching. I started with some family friends back in LA, but not knowing anyone in New York, i'm not resorting to the beautiful internet.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly children under the age of 15
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who will teach you how to think rather than what to think and what buttons to push.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals? Do you have a specific track in mind? Or maybe your just curious? What do you want to be able to do in the short-term? Long-term?
