About this tutor

I am an experienced tutor in Mathematics. I have been a private tutor since 2014.

I can help you with: SHSAT, ISEE, SAT, ACT, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1-2, Linear or Differential Algebra, College Algebra or Statistics, Pre- Calculus, AP Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry.

My favorite part of teaching is making a difference in students' academic success through test scores and improved grades. I believe it is important to encourage students to improve in school and cultivate a passion for learning.

For me, teaching is an exchange of knowledge and experience. This process could inspire people, mould their future and shape to great extent a humane society. Comprehending the importance of this position I will strive to transmit my knowledge and experiences to my students. The lessons will be constructed and organized collaboratively and, in a flexible manner so as to attune to the students’ background and meet their needs. In this position, I will be guided by the motivation of encouraging and inspiring my students to develop full personality and enrich their capacities with a view to fulfilling their aspirations. At the end of the day, a great reward for me would be an acknowledgment of my efforts on behalf of my students. This was how my previous year started - I receive a message from a student “Thank you, you changed my life!”.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The most crucial is to explain why maths are so important in their life and how this knowledge affect their future. This gives to a student some reasons to study.

Then, each student has different personality, so one need to find a smoothly way to teach and help the student to reach the top.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Courses I was taught at my Universities (NSSR, MDX, NKUA):

Undergraduate Courses: Mathematical Analysis I-II, Statistic I-II, Dynamic Mathematics and Linear Mathematics, Econometrics, Game Theory.

Graduate Courses: Advanced Econometrics, Advanced Math Tools, and Advanced Math Models and Modeling.

R-statistics, Wolfram Mathematica as well.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

For a high school student is 50$.

For a university student is 70$.

Generally, it depends on the level of difficulty in each course.

How did you get started teaching?

Teaching Maths is my passion. I mean it. In high school (2008), I started helping a friend to pass an exam at the school. Since then, I was teaching for free for many years high school students that had economic difficulties or some friends from the university to pass their exams. I was doing this work as a hobby.

In 2017, it was the first time I get paid. After that, I am following the phrase: "Do what you love, and you'll never work another day in your life"

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked mostly with two types of students:

The once who are excellent students from the start. They are passionate with Maths and most of them, they already know what they want to do in the future, so it is easier for me to increase the difficult level of our course and make sure that this student will be fully prepared for the course or the finals.

The second type is the others who do not like maths and they feel that they are not good at it. I really love to change their opinion about Maths and improve their skills to be also fully prepared for any denand for the class.

and do them passionate as I am with maths.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Three years ago, I had a student who was 'allergic' to Maths. He was one of the worst student in the class. Moreover, he had changed 4 different tutors before me. I started a course with him and after one year and a half, he wrote the best grade in his class!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

It's easy to find a tutor who is expert in any area.

It's difficult to find the one who can change your life.
