I 've been tutoring for over 10 years. I specialize in teaching mathematics (pre-K to college students ), Spanish (beginner to advanced), and English as a Second Language (beginner to advanced).

I have tutored in the Dominican Republic, Spain, and the US; therefore, I am comfortable teaching in both English and Spanish. I obtained a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Stony Brook University and a master's degree in Spanish Education.

Additionally to our lessons, I offer weekly reports, independent work assignments, helpful resources, ebooks for students, and free progress evaluations.

Helping students succeed.

Fantastic! Mercedez cares about her students learning and is committed to helping them get better. I had a great experience as she helped prepare my daughter for SATs. I would highly recommend any other parents to work with Mercedez in the future.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I do a free evaluation to get to know the student, what he/she is struggling with, and what he/she is good at.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been in the education field for over ten years.

I have worked with different demographics in various countries, such as the Dominican Republic, Spain, and the US.

I've participated in educational projects abroad, such as ProPIC with Erasmus students.

I earned a bachelor's degree in Mathematics

I earned a master's degree in Spanish Education

I've received training from DOE, RAEN, and DYCD

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My starting rate is $90 per hour.

How did you get started teaching?

I grew up in the Dominican Republic, and I was a very disciplined student. I loved learning; however, some of my classmates didn't. So I would usually teach them and explain new concepts and topics after class.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with PreK students through college students.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure this teacher understands your needs and pushes you to do better.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

- How will you help me achieve my goals?

- What can I do independently to become better?

- Are you ready to commit and give your best?
