About
I am not just a tutor, but a credentialed math teacher. I have 6 years of experience teaching algebra, geometry and other foundational math classes. As a teacher, my room was always bussling with my students between classes, at lunch and after school getting help on homework or quiz corrections because they knew I was going to be there for them, be patient and do whatever I could to get them to understand.
I love teaching and tutoring, it feels so nice to see my students excell and become unstuck after being stumped by a concept. I enjoy the mentorship side of the job as well and being able to pass on my knowledge and experience to help someone else!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to jump right into it and begin on a problem or assignment the student is struggling with. From there, I try to get a good grasp on which concepts or levels the student has a good understanding of and which concepts their very troubled by. This allows me to always provide support in the right ways.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a trained and licensed high school math teacher. I taught in California for 6 years and tutored for an additional 4 years before that.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I strive for $50/hr because I am a trained teacher who taught for 6 years and have extensive experience tutoring individual students through my time as a teacher. For those need multiple hours at time/week, I am willing to accomodate a more competitive rate (35-40) hr if you'll need more than 4 hours a week).
How did you get started teaching?
I was a tutor for some of my classmates in college!
What types of students have you worked with?
Students of all ages and levels, students who are striving for an A and students just trying to survive, students who have a good knack for math and students who are completely lost all the time, I've worked with them all.
