About
There's a saying that we fear what we don't understand. Many students find math intimidating because somewhere along the way they didn't understand fundamental Math concepts and this lack of knowledge carried with them as they graduated to higher grade level. I am here to build their confidence, fill in the knowledge gaps and equip them with problem solving skills. With more than 7 years of experience as a Math teacher, my skills in differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and multisensory lesson planning allow me to meet the needs of students whose ages range from Kindergarten through college. I help students learn through methods like the first principle thinking and the Socratic method.
My years of experience have taught me the value of patience, encouragement, and emotional intelligence. I value learning, growing, and empowering others. It always makes me happy when my students confidently solve math problems and overcome challenges after helping them master the fundamentals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would have a chat with the student as well as the parents to understand, assess and identify the student's strengths, weaknesses, goals, time frame, and learning style. Then, from there we would jump right into mastering the fundamentals and problem-solving.
I also make sure to stay connected with family members, caregivers, and any specialists involved.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My years of experience have taught me the value of patience, encouragement, and emotional intelligence to empower students and help them master the math skills and concepts to go on to college and everyday life beyond high school.
• Math teacher for grades 3-5 at La Scuola D' Italia, a private school in Manhattan, adept in student motivation, test administering and proctoring, progress reporting, needs assessment, and visually engaging educational techniques.
• Worked closely with children from K-12 in a one-to-one setting as a Math teacher and co-manager at Mathnasium of Astoria for four years, providing the individualized support and praise they require.
• Tutored approximately 20 high school students for Algebra 2 and Geometry Regents Preparation. I also completed CUNY's Dosage tracker biweekly for research purposes in order to improve teaching strategies for students.
