About this tutor

Did you know that there are seven different styles of learning?

Most people do not.

What makes my service stand out from others is that I do not teach according to the way that I learn. I teach according to the way you learn.

If I see that one way of explaining things is not working I work tirelessly until I find the way that the material clicks in your head.

I firmly believe that people can learn anything as long as they have a teacher that understands how they work.

From my experience, when people do not do well in school their overall confidence sinks. My absolute favorite part of the work I do is not when whoever I am teaching gets it, although that part is fantastic. My favorite part is when the person I am working with truly understands that doing well in school is simply a skill. A skill they can work on and get better at. It is not how smart you are or how many words you know. It is all about training yourself to learn. So, my favorite part is when the people I am working with slowly begin to enjoy the process of learning.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I try to cater my tutoring system to each student. However, the general system is as follows.

1) Phone call - the purpose of this call is to go over practical details such as goals, schedule, pricing, and I will ask for some sample work to be sent to me prior to the first session.

2) First Session - Meet with client either online or in person at a local starbucks or library - this is the first session, the first five to ten minutes will be spent getting to know each other a little bit and then we dive right into the work.

3) Reevaluate - Right after the first session I send a summary of the session and feedback to the parent or client and ask for feedback as well. This allows me to see what worked and what didn't. Based off of this feedback I create a plan for future sessions.

4) Further Lessons - The rest of the lessons continue and every couple of lessons I will actively ask for feedback and provide some myself. This helps me adjust my tutoring to be closer to your needs.

*I am always open to feedback/constructive criticism. You can send me a text or email if there is anything that you are not happy with (Or anything that you are happy with, compliments are awesome too ;)

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I work through a package system. The larger the package the cheaper the rate is. I do allow the larger packages to be broken into two installments.

1 session = $50

10 sessions = $490 ($49/session)

20 sessions = $960 ($48/session)

30 sessions = $1410 ($47/session)

40 sessions = $1840 ($46/session)

50 sessions = $2250 ($45/session)

*If there are extenuating circumstances please let me know and I will do my absolute best to work with you. Your child's education is very important to me and I am sure we can figure something out.
