Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I get to know the students and their learning style. Then I see how much of the subject they understand and how much they don't so I can get an idea on what topics to work on and what stragtegies to teach with.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've worked at all the tutoring programs in my highschool.
I've had one year of child education for elementary school in college.
I've taken a semester of child psychology in college to help me better understand their behavior patterns.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My basic pricing starts from $15 an hour to $25 and hour depending on the grade level of the student and amount of subjects.
How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring my brother when he was in elementary and then went on to tutor other family members like cousins. From there I decided to start tutoring as a part time job while I work on my career.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with regular elementary school students, esl students, middle school students, and highschool students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell students to get to talk to the tutors before choosing one because the best way to learn is from someone you feel you can cope with. The students should be able to have a normal conversation with their potential tutors because they're the one's who will spend their time learning with them.
