About
My name is Sierra Coleman. I am currently a junior at Bishop Manogue High School in Reno, NV. I am a straight A, 4.0 gpa, patient, hardworking, and determined student that is willing to help elementary and middle school aged kids succeed in their academic goals. I am able to assist in all core subjects including, but not limited to, Mathematics, English, Reading, Science, Social Studies/History, and Computer Literacy. I was taught and am very familiar in common core teachings and the new ways of elementary and middle school education and teaching styles. I do understand that some kids would be more comfortable being taught by someone closer to their age, rather than an adult. As a high school student myself, I understand the struggle of learning new subjects for the first time and being able to be going through similar situations in school, especially during this pandemic and unique schooling situation, I think that it will allow me to better help and understand what your student is going through.
I enjoy helping other kids excel and be able to reach their academic goals. I believe that if I have the knowledge and the ability to share what I know to help others, that it is something I should do.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by watching my student and their already practiced study habits. From there, I analyze the student's strengths and weaknesses in studying and work on learning and comprehending content while also working to improve their study skills. I believe in appreciating and acknowledging already well practiced study habits and being encouraging in order to work on skills that need improvement.

I price a tutoring session at $20 an hour.
