My name is Nolan Smith and I am a Finance Major at the Univeristy of Nevada, Reno. I have always found great interest and success in math and enjoy helping others understand and solve the problems that they are faced with when it comes to mathematics. I have great expertise in basic math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra, and College Algebra.
What I enjoy most about the work I do is helping students acquire confidence. When someone has confidence in what they're doing it can make the whole difference in their level of performance.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process for working with a new student is starting with a foundational base of who they are, how they like to learn, and what they struggle with. Being able to understand the source of their issue in intepreting material is essential.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Throughout high school I strived in matehmatics and now being at the University of Nevada, Reno it is something that I find great interest in and being a finance major we are constantly evaluating equations and working with numbers! Although the field of personal training does not correlate with tutoring the significance of understanding how to analyze issues and formualte a plan to reach certain goals is something that I have learned to do with clients.
