My name is Jake. I have been teaching English for 6 years in different countries such as Singapore, Korea, and Vietnam. I have BA in Anthropology and a 200hr TEFL certificate.

For group classes I charge $10 per person per hour. For one on one, I charge $25 per hour
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in a private school in Korea.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages. From 3 years first learning language to adults teaching Business English.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently had a baby. His name is Leo and it's been extremely enjoyable watching him grow every day.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone whose personality you like. If you don't find it enjoyable and engaging, it won't matter how good their material or knowledge is. You need to find someone whose class you look forward to attending.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my long-term goals? What is the most difficult area of English for me? What has prevented me from reaching my goal before this? Why does having a tutor make a difference?
