Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A member of our staff will go out and meet with a family for a free consultation to assess the student's needs and get a sense of their personality and what type of tutor they'd work best with (i.e. structured, fun, etc..), we then match up a student with one of our highly qualified instructors, the instructor will develop a customized learning plan for the student during the first session, in subsequent sessions the tutor will carryout lessons that help the student reach their academic goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All Instructors are Certified Teachers or highly qualified in the subject they teach, and all have University degrees.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Standard pricing begins at $65(for general academic subject tutoring) an hour and goes up to $95 (for high stakes testing). Group sessions are priced lower depending on number of students in a group.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with students for all academic subjects, all academic abilities, and all ages, from toddler to adult.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We proudly presented Family Fun STEM Night to local Elementary Schools. It is a program we designed ourselves. They were very well received, and all attendees had a super fun time while learning alot about STEM!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I advise that a student works with a tutor that inspires and motivates them, that gives them confidence along with the academic skills they need to succeed.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should consider their learning style, the reason they are not understanding something, what part of a problem is hard for them to conceive, and their prior knowledge to that topic.
