I am a 22 year veteran elementary education teacher ( certified K-8). I have a Masters Degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude(Highest Honors) in Education with Reading Specialist from Saint Joseph's University, Phila. Pa. I specialize in teaching strategies for reading comprehension and writing for struggling learners. I am inducted into International Honor Societies for Reading and Education. Teaching and learning is my passion!
I love the "aha!" moments of learning! I love allowing my students to discover their learning as we share information. I am both teacher and facilitator interchangeably as information is being discussed. Additionally, I love the successes of my students during the learning process. I am still in touch with many of them who are now aduts with families, 15 years later! I am blessed to be still witnessing their successes as adults.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I welcome them warmly as I introduce myself. I make their acquaintance with a smile!😊 Next, we may do a "getting to know you activity." This activity will allow the student and I to share special things ( i.e. hobbies, favorite foods, special talents etc.) about ourselves. After our activity, I ask the student to share their expectations for our sessions of learning. I share how I will meet their goals with my teaching strategies.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters Degree in Education with Reading Specialist and 22 years of teaching experience. I have taught elementary education, online, and as an adjunct college professor during my years of teaching. I created my own online K-8 Online Academy incepted in 2009. www.edworksacademy.com I have taught homeschooled elementary children in other states.
