About

As a newly graduated Doctor of Optometry I have dedicated my life to the understanding and application of math and science in a healthcare setting. I understand just how hard these concepts can be for students, especially in an ever growing online learning environment. It is my goal to help all students understand and appreciate these subjects, especially if they aspire to prepare themselves for college or graduate level studies.

I believe the furthering of one's education is one of the most worthwhile investments that can be made. As my academic journey can vouch for, sometimes this can be a very confusing and quite frankly frustrating challenge to tackle alone. I love being able to use my affinity for math and science to help the next generation understand and appreciate these concepts as I do.

Frequently asked questions

My first priority when working with new students is to establish a clear goal to be accomplished by the end of a tutoring session. I believe it is important to set concrete milestones so a child and parent may see the progress being made. Whether the accomplishment be small scale such as learning long division or more intricate, tangible forward progress is essential to the learning process. If a request is more large scale such as career planning or college appication then a weekly or monthly check in to set and review goals is more appropriate. As a tutor it is my duty to assess a child's needs and formulate a plan that will work best for them and their schedule.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Connecticut in 2015. I decided to further my education and receive a Doctor of Optometry from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science in 2020. At both of these institutions I have tutored peers in classes ranging from Calculus, Organic Chemistry, Microbiology, and Optometric Theory and Methods. I have instructed others during hands on lab demonstrations as well while learning new exam techniques in Optometry school.
