About
As an experienced educator and passionate communicator, I love teaching students about the written word and helping them find their voices as writers and speakers. I am as passionate about the nitty-gritty details of sentence-building as I am developing more convincing arguments and conveying big ideas.
Additionally, having worked full-time as a High School English Language Arts Teacher, I have direct teaching experience and expertise to help your child navigate the particular needs of their school and teachers.
I love the opportunity to build an individualized program for a student. I believe learning happens best when its customized to the learner. No two students are alike in needs or motivation and the challenge and joy of figuring out what drives a particular student and working with them to reach their goals is definitely a highlight of my work.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I want to set up an introduction session to meet with the student and family to discuss specific goals and get to know the student, their personality, and some of their learning needs. After getting to know the student, I like to focus on just a couple of skills to work on while continuing to gather information about the interests of the student and ways to engage their interest.
