About
Hi,
I’m a teacher and have a couple of openings left in my schedule to take more students. I’d be happy to help you learn English.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first connect with the parent and learn what kind of tutor the family is looking for (science, math, English, etc...) and maybe even more of the specifics (anatomy, life science, earth science), etc. In this conversation, I share my rates, cancellation policies, and a couple of my tutoring styles (very similar to that of when I was teaching in the classroom). I answer any questions the parent may have and then we set up a day/time for our first tutoring session!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a former school teacher and have been tutoring several of the same students for several months. Currently, I have 5 students!
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching because of my passion for learning. I truly enjoy learning and studying. I love making my lessons fun and engaging for my students. I've taught at classical schools so have lots of training and enthusiasm in using as much creativity as possible to connect the specific lessons taught to the age/stage of the student.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with everyone! Some of my students have been elementary, middle, and high school students. Some of my students have had special needs including: ADD, ADHD, autistic, epilepsy, and diabetes.
I've also worked with students who are in honors classes and who are excelling in academia.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, one of my ninth grade honor math students finally grasped the lesson on solving systems of equations and it was truly marvelous to watch his confidence soar for the rest of the lesson!!
Also, recently, his brother, whom I tutor in 7th grade math, shared with me that he got his FIRST 5/5 on a math quiz, thanks to the week's prior tutoring session. He was so proud of himself and so was I!!!
