About this tutor

As a first year student in college on the Dean's list, I have learned a lot about writing. I have received straight A's in all of the English courses I have taken. I have a passion for helping students of all ages write and learn how to be fluent! I have helped Elementary level students in math, science, and reading/writing courses for 4 years now, on the side. I would love to help your student grow and understand school in a fun and entertaing way.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

1. Address the issue that they are having (i.e., comma splice)

2. Provide ways to fix the issue (i.e., simple breakdown on how to use commas)

3. Work on some examples

4. Edit papers, emails, etc...

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have completed high school with honors.

I am a Dean's List recipient at High Point University.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My prices are flexible and vary depending on the subject and the length of an assignment. A few examples inlcude, but are not limited to:

- Essay editing: $5-10/hour (depending on length)

- Essay rewriting: $10-15/hour (depending on length)

- Math Homework (up to 5th grade): $5-10/hour (depending on length)

- Reading Homework: $5-10/hour (depending on length)

Rates are negotiable and vary upon assignments.

How did you get started teaching?

I just started this from home. While I am not a teacher, I know htat I can provide academic services to your students at a low rate, from the comfort of your home! I am passionate and know that I am a good resource for your child as I have their best interest at heart!

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked primarily with Elementary students and helped students at my university polish their papers, emails, etc...

I have worked with one student who had a reading disability and we moved their grade from failing to passing.

I want to help your student improve themselves and get them to where they need/want to be!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would tell them that patience and passion are two key factors in this postion.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

I believe that all questions are necessary and should be asked when a student coems up with them. Thus meaning that no questions need to be thought through. They are questions because they stem from a lack of understanding something or curiosity about a topic. Therefore, they should be thought through with a teacher, parent, peer, etc...
