Y’s Tutoring
About
Hello! My name is Huader, I'm 28 years old, and I teach special education (resource setting) in an elementary school. I've had four years of experience, and I'm really looking forward to helping kids be the best they can be in reading and or math. During the end of the last school year due to COVID, I was able to Zoom daily with my students. As challenging as this might sound, it actually worked! I noticed that students were more engaged sitting in front of a computer screen watching me teach. This has helped me grow as a teacher immensely.
I enjoy getting to know different kids' personalities. What motivates one kid may not necessarily motivate another kid. I love getting to know what encourages them to be the best they can be. I am able to work with that, to remind them of what we're truly working towards. This is all just behind the scenes. What we do with knowledge and growth is what will change our lives.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would first "screen" a student. If the student has difficulty with reading, I would ask the student to read or identify some letters and/or different types of words. If the student has difficulty with math, I would ask the student a few different kinds of questions with numbers and/or word problem types. This is just to get a feel for what strengths the student holds. Then I look for specific needs the student is working towards, and we go from there!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had four years of experience with teaching students (K-5) with students with learning disabilities in a school setting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Please message me for more information! I will work with you!
How did you get started teaching?
Great question! I have my undergraduate in Psychology and minored in Mathematics. After graduation, I had the opportunity to work closely with young adults with disabilities. Their abilities blew my mind, and I knew that's where my heart was. I got started towards my teaching degree, and here I am, years later and I get to do what I love everyday.
What types of students have you worked with?
I typically work with K-5 students who have needs in reading, math, and social/emotional skills.
