About
Math / STEM Tutor Available
I am an educator in my 13th of math and science teaching at the middle and high school levels. Presently, I teach Engineering, AP Computer Science, and Multivariable Calculus to high school students within the Durham public school system.
I have worked with a great many tutoring students over the past decade, helping struggling students to experience confidence and success in their math and science studies and pushing strong students to really thrive in their advanced courses. My aim as a teacher of mathematics, physical sciences, and computer science is to inspire in students a genuine passion for learning, to coach students towards defining and achieving academic and personal goals, and to encourage an appreciation for the intrinsic beauty and interconnectedness of the mathematical sciences. As needed, coaching towards and modeling of strong academic habits is absolutely included in my tutoring practice.
I am available to meet remotely weekday afternoons and evenings for 1-hour or 90-minute appointments. My rates depend on the duration and frequency of our meetings and also on the subject level. During quarantine, I am only offering virtual tutoring services - meeting with my students via Google Meet or Zoom. To facilitate virtual tutoring, I use a web-based whiteboard application (see images) paired with video conferencing. A prospective student will need an internet connection and the ability to share images of their textbook and course materials (a smartphone or tablet works well for this).
To learn more about the tutoring services that I offer or to discuss booking an initial appointment, please reach out to me by phone or email. Resume and references are available on request. In your message, please do include your contact information and a description of the tutoring needed.
