Aashi is an excellent tutor. She is patient; she can repeat what you don’t understand one and one more time slowly and patiently so you don’t feel pressured and you feel comfortable

I had the privilege of having Aashi as a student instructor for Calculus 1. Although, going into it, I did have a strong basis on the core principles of Calculus, she allowed me to see Calculus in a more applicable way. She proved to be kind in her delivery, but stringent on the minor details that students often take for granted when solving practice problems. Often times, solving math problems can become second nature, but only if one understands the first principles behind it. Aashi has a proven track record of student success. As mathphiles, numbers tell no lies. I mean, look at me, I scored A’s on each and every Calculus exam, and ended the class with a 102%. More so, I’ve finished the Calculus ‘trilogy’ all thanks to Aashi’s ability to boil complex topics down to simple, easy to understand pedagogical delivery.

I have NEVER been a good math student. Although, I can on occasion get to the point where I somewhat enjoy math, it’s always been a huge battle to get there. I generally need things explained to me multiple times/different ways before I will understand. Most people don’t have the patience to help me really learn. In the past I had been to tutoring through almost every single math class I took. It was always a dreadful time. I never looked forward to tutoring because tutors always made me feel stupid. They made me feel like I wasn’t worth their time. Aashi had the patience of an angle every step of the way. Instead of making me feel stupid or less than she always treated me like a equal and had more faith in my ability than I did. She championed me through the entire class. Aashi made me genuinely look forward to tutoring every week. After every tutoring session with Aashi I left feeling extremely accomplished, rather than in the past when I’d left tutoring out of frustration and defeat. When Aashi didn’t know the answer to one of my questions she wasn’t afraid to admit that. If she didn’t know, she knew exactly the person/paper to refer to. When Aashi took her breaks she would STILL help me with problems. If that doesn’t scream the amount of kindness and patience she has, then I don’t know what does.

Frequently asked questions

I would first like to have an introductory session with the student, so that we both get familier with each other. I would also like to know what they have learnt so far in the subject, so that I can assist them with the best I can.

Be comfortable sharing your thoughts with your teacher and be honest when you are unable to understand anything and give your teacher a chance to re-explain you something which you are unable to understand easily. If you get your problems clarified the second time, that teacher is potentailly right for you.

What are ttheir expectations from their teacher?
