Hi! My name is Samantha Perlman. I have been teaching special education for 4 years. While I was in school for education, I would tutor student during my free time. I love to teach and watch my students learn. I’m currently certified in special education and elementary education. I’m an reading and English Language Learner endorsed. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I like to get to know my students-interests, what type of learner they are, etc.Then I figure out where their current and what they need in order to understand a concept.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working with children since I was 14 years old. I was an after school counselor for 6 years. When I was in college, I did K-12 internships and experience in elementary, middle, and high school. I’ve been teaching for 4 years as a special education teacher.
