About
I provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring in virtually every subject and for all grades from Kindergarten to College. I can work with a full range of requests, from struggling students wanting to improve their performance to high-performing students seeking to maintain their exemplary standing.
I work with private and public school students, as well as homeschool and college students. Typically, I design a personalized study and tutoring program based on the personality, aptitude, skills, and learning style of each student. Instead of expecting students to fit a predesigned template, I customize our work to fit each unique student.
In addition to the core subjects in Mathematics, Sciences, and English, I tutor students and lead study groups for classes such as Physics, Electrical & Computer Engineering, and a variety of Humanities Courses. I can proficiently tutor most areas of mathematics. I have years of experience in Calculus, Algebra, Geometry, and Computer Science. I work in test preparation for SAT and ACT as well.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically, we schedule a meet and greet to discuss the logistics of scheduling, pricing, and time commitment. From there, we create a learning plan and start our sessions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an Engineering major at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. I have taken and led study groups for some of the most difficult Math, Engineering, Computer Science, and Physics courses available.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My tutoring rate ranges from $40-60 per hour, depending on the needs of the student, the intervention required, and the length of the sessions.
How did you get started teaching?
I initially volunteered with the owner/operator of Truesdale Academy Tutoring company. She allowed me to branch off into my own division, solely focusing on Mathematics, Engineering, and STEM-oriented courses.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students of all abilities, age ranges, and learning styles.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had an a-ha moment with one of my students when discussing differential equations and partial derivatives. Most noteably, we spoke through a common acronym and I was able to explain the meaning of each part of it. She finally understood and was able to apply this information to ace her upcoming assessment.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would look for a teacher/tutor with amazing references and the ability to adapt to any learning style for instruction.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should consider their learning styles, their strengths and areas of concern, and their level of commitment to the topic at hand.
