I have 14 years of teaching experience, primarily with students in K-6, but I have done some 7th and 8th too. I have 2 masters, one focused on elementary and one that includes a reading specialist certification.
I love helping students learn and realize they are capable of understanding school work. I am currently a reading specialist at a middle school, working with students in grades 6-8.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically introduce myself to the student and ask them to introduce themselves to me. If I notice a student is shy, I will play a quick ice breaker. Building rapport and making sure everyone is comfortable is most important.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been teaching for 14 years in all grades PreK-12. Most of my experience has been with students in grades K-6. I have my BA in Sociology and 2 MA in Education. I also have my reading specialist certification.

My rate is $70 per hour or $35 for 30 minutes. Some of my lessons are currently 30 minutes online.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many students. I have had students below, on, and above grade levels as well as students with IEPs. Many students have had ADHD and struggle with focus at school.
