About

I am a high school math teacher and I am very passionate about helping others at all levels of math. As a tutor, I am extremely patient and can always try a different way to explain and simplify a math concept. I always maintain a positive attitude and try my best to make it a fun experience, while also making sure we both stay on task and get everything figured out.

Ever since I can remember in school, math came very naturally to me and I always loved helping my classmates through their math struggles. I helped one of my best friends who really struggled in math improve his grade in Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, and College Algebra while we were in high school, which finished his college math requirement. This was extremely rewarding and sparked my interest in both math tutoring and teaching. I also earned the class award for College Algebra during my senior year which was an honor.

After I graduated from Ste. Genevieve High School, I attended Southeast Missouri State University to earn my Bachelors in high school math education. I created study groups in all of my math courses and helped many classmates when we would meet up at Kent Library to work on the homework and study for exams. I also worked at the Math Lab on campus for walk-in math tutoring for several semesters. I had a few private tutoring sessions as well, one of which was a longterm gig with a student who liked my walk-in tutoring so much that he asked if I would also do private tutoring to help him pass Statistics. While it was quite a challenge for him, I was so happy when I found out he passed the class when he was not looking like he would. Overall I was so happy to gain all of these rewarding tutoring experiences throughout college.

I am currently in my 2nd year as a high school math teacher. I enjoy teaching many students at once but honestly I still prefer the moments when I'm answering a question or helping a student one on one. I think it is so much easier to learn from one on one instruction than whole group instruction which is why I am here on this platform, to help those students who are too shy to ask their teacher a question in front of everyone, or the students who don't want to feel less intelligent than their friends by asking for help, etc. I look forward to you giving me a chance to help you out in math!

Ryan was extremely professional while he tutored me my freshman year at SEMO for Statistics. Always on time and always knew how to accurately solve the homework at hand. I can not recommend Ryan enough because without his help I would of not been able to pass Stats.
