About
I have over 25 years solving math and engineering problems and I have that many years as a math and chemistry teacher/tutor.
I really enjoy teaching my students math skills and "math Tricks." It is great to see their improvement and confidence grow over time.
I have a B.S. in Extractive Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a Master's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University (IL). In the private sector I was involved in developing several medical devices for coronary balloon angioplasty (coronary artery pain relief) and was a co-inventor in the medical and concrete material industries.
Helping others and learning new ways to teach math and chemistry concepts.

Engineering and teaching experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Generally $40 per hour, but that includes my transportation costs.
How did you get started teaching?
I was recruited to teach math at a Catholic school.
What types of students have you worked with?
Basic math, sixth graders through pre-algebra; all algebra levels, plane geometry, analytical geometry, trigonometry, statistics, AP Stats, AP Calculus, Physics, and Chemistry.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The Minnesota Twins making the 2017 AL playoffs was pretty neat. Twins looked even better in 2019.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find out if they are a good listener. A good tutor needs to listen.

Be honest and tell the tutor what you need to improve. That will save time and money.
