I don't consider myself *just* a tutor, but a mentor as well. Knowing how to work through problems is of pivotal importance for a tutor, but building relationships with students is just as important! I aim to inspire students to learn and provide them with the confidence they need to pursue their learning without worrying that it may be too difficult for them.
My favorite part of tutoring is watching students have that "Aha!" moment when learning something new. My goal as a tutor is to give students the tools necessary to tackle any problem before them, and watching them realize that math, science or reading isn't as difficult as they once believe it to be really inspires me!
kayla was a great math tutor! she knows the content well and is able to break down hard concepts to make them easier for me to understand! she was very kind and patient
Kayla has been truly amazing. She is always on time during session hour. She is really intelligent. Because of Kayla I am able to understand concept better. She explains question step by step. She really teaches very well. She is always patient and shows kindness.
I've found that the best way to work with students is to break down problems piece by piece. Often times, learning new things can be very overwhelming, and many students may not even know where to begin. That's why I like to teach them a methodology on how to approach problems, in order to give them the confidence they need to finish a problem, and give them a place to begin.
