Cristine Fisher Tutoring
About
I am a 6-12 certified math, chemistry and physics teacher who provides individualized and group tutoring sessions. I also provide individual and group SAT math preparation sessions.
Because I am a certified teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience, I will create tailor made lesson plans to meet your goals and the goals of your student.
Experiences I can provide:
Remediation for students who are missing fundamental skills from previous years
Clarification and reinforcement of concepts taught in class
Instruction on how to prepare for tests and quizzes in general as well as specific review for upcoming tests
Enrichment and extension for students who are performing well in class and would benefit from more academically challenging material
Individualized and group preparation for the math portion of the SAT
I enjoy working one-on-one with students to help them develop mathematical skills as well as improve their confidence in their abilities. It is very rewarding when a student is able to reach their goals through our sessions.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
At the beginning of the first session, I like to spend a few minutes talking with the student to learn their goals, discover their strengths and improvement areas and find out what ways they feel they learn best. I will often ask the student about their past experiences learning math to see what baggage they have related to the subject. From there, the student and I, together, form a plan for moving forward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified high school math, chemistry and physics teacher with fifteen years of teaching, academic coaching and tutoring experience. The certifications from the State of Michigan that I currently hold are: DC-Chemistry, DE-Physics and EX-Math (grades 6-12.)
