Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I introduce myself and then ask questions about the student to get to know where they stand (how much knowledge, time, etc do they have and what are their goals?)
I plan a short lesson ahead of time and see how it goes. After the first lesson, I adjust my teaching style and lesson plans appropriately to make sure all the time in the session is used effectively.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have near perfect scores on the SAT and ACT Math and a 4.0 GPA during high school.
I scored a perfect 800 on the SAT Math Level 2 Subject Test and Chemistry subject test, and I have several awards in biology and other science related competitions, such as the USA Biology Olympiad.
I have several years of experience tutoring students in both math and science concepts in my school district.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes. All my lessons will be $15 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started volunteering early in high school. Over a few years, I realized I loved tutoring and decided and I should share my knowledge for low rates to students who need help reaching their goals, especially during the Covid pandemic.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with both middle school and high school students for several years.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Always try out the first session and ask if you can have the first hour free. This way, tutors can build rapport with students and prove their rates, while students find the tutor they're looking for
