SMILE Math Tutoring
About
My business stands out because it focuses on family tutoring, meaning that the whole family can receive math tutoring and with that it creates educational wealth within the family. I am a doctoral student who has been tutoring on and off for the last eight years to students of all ages. I am also an educator of mathematics for 3rd grade students full time.
I enjoy seeing the lightbulb go off and students heads when they finally understand the topic that they never thought they could understand.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The advise that I would give to a student looking to hire a teacher in the area of mathematics is to find someone who can teach them according to their style, whether that student is a technology friendly person or hands-on or in need of manipulatives in order to understand mathematical techniques. That teacher needs to know how to meet all styles of lining.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The first thing that the student should ask them self is can I teach this to myself, is there someone in my household that can help me, or is there a teacher in my family who would be willing to help me. These are all questions that the student should ask before talking to a teacher about what they need. Prior to that the student should make a list of what they believe they need so they can properly communicate.
