Niva Ranavat

As a current Masters student in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, I have a strong passion for teaching mathematics and have taught for many years. Previously, I served as a teaching assistant for a Boolean Algebra course during my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine, where I helped first-year students grasp discrete mathematics concepts and develop their skills. During high school, I would tutor students at Mathnasium of all ages in mathematics. I enjoyed it a lot and decided to continue, I have been tutoring tutor high school students in computer science and mathematics from Algebra to Calculus for 3+ years. My biggest accomplishment is successfully helping them achieve an average grade increase of 30%.

I completed calculus during high school in the AP Calculus BC, achieving a 5/5 on the exam. Additionally, in my senior year of high school, I completed multivariable calculus through a local community college. These courses have inspired me and pushed me towards my studies in computer science. I am eager to contribute to the learning environment in Mathematics and Computer Sciences and further develop my teaching skills.
