I am a seasoned professional in the field of automotive engineering, who utilizes high school to college mathematics on a daily basis. I tutored test-prep mathematics extensively during my college years and am looking to reignite this passion. I graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelors in Materials Science and Engineering. I also have an MBA from the University of Michigan. I am a father of 3 daughters from 2 to 13 years old. Therefore, patience and approachability are certainly strengths of mine. Since Covid, my work arrange has changed to working-from-home allowing me this rare opportunity to pursue a tutoring side-career.

I've been tutoring for the past two years. I've noticed, that often teachers put up formulas without explaining where they came from, and how to apply them to real-world problems. When I tutor, I place an emphasis on having a deep understanding on concepts we're covering them so they have mastery over the skills they once struggled with. Covering contextual applications and derivations of formulas also make it easier for students to use and apply the knowledge they learned in the classroom to out of class room problems....

Physics can be for everyone as long as teachers take the time to figure out how best to commuicate concepts to each specific student. The most fun part of teaching physics is coming up with as many different angles as possible with which to approach an idea! One of the best things about physics is that it's so much more about how you think than what you know, which allows for actual collaboration between teachers and students. I love when a student starts to gain enough confidence in their own logic to figure out that the problem is posed poorly or to question my explanation of something.
