About
My name is Sharon Fisher. I live right outside the Martinsburg WV area. I have a Masters in Elementary Mathematics and Science and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I taught 6 years in the public school system. I have been homeschooling my children for the last 17 years from Preschool until 12th grade. My oldest will graduate college in May as an honors student at Fairmont State University. I am currently teaching Prealgebra, Algebra, US Geography and World Geography for the Academy of Bright Ideas press for the Academy of Bright Ideas Press, work for VIPKID, Inc. as an ESL teacher, and tutor three students for math, in my home. I am available for tutoring and can let you know my availability to see if it coordinates with your schedule. My office is suited to work on the skills that your child is struggling with. I use a variety of educational tools and techniques to help your child be able to solve problems whether he/she learns through visual, oral, or kinesthetic techniques.
I enjoy seeing the "light bulb" moment when the students finally understand a concept and feel proud of their accomplishment. Every child can learn, the instructor just had to use different learning techniques and strategies in order to figure out what is the best path for the student to be successful.
