About
I am an experienced tutor with teaching position at Howard Community College in Maryland and Lane Community College in Oregon. I am a dedicate tutor with 20+ years of experience improving student grades, specializing in all areas of mathematics and statistics. My experience combines with my commitment to student success, make an ideal candidate to ensure that students can successfully navigate the difficulties associated with learning and mastering mathematical concepts and ideas.
My experience is that it is best for student if tutoring is viewed as a two-way street process. Tutoring is quite different than lecturing in a classroom environment in that it’s necessary for the student to be engaged in order for a tutoring section to be successful. That, my approach to tutoring is to constantly ask questions to the student so that I can understand whether the material is being well-understood. This approach works well for me, and I see that in the success of my students.
