About
I am a retired public school Math teacher with 40 years of experience. I taught Middle School Math for 22 years and High School Math for 18 years. I began my teaching career in Prince George's County Public Schools, first at Stephen Decatur Middle School for 8 years and then at Oxon Hill Senior High School for 2 years. I then switched to Fairfax County Public Schools, where I taught at Walt Whitman Middle School for 14 years and then at Mount Vernon High School for 16 years before retiring in June 2016.
Throughout my career, I have desperately tried to disprove the theory that Math teachers have to be dull and boring all of the time. I have enjoyed inflicting my sense of humor on unsuspecting teenagers while at the same time striving to explain mathematical concepts in ways that students can easily understand.
