About
Hello! My name is Hue, I offer tutoring services for math and sciences-related subjects, whether it's advanced or foundational. As my life philosophy, I aim to cultivate a passion for STEM in students and eliminate any confusion in terms of knowledge. I have a year of tutoring peers at my high school on STEM-related subjects such as Anatomy and Physiology, Pre-calculus, and Algebra. In one-on-one tutoring, I will cooperate with parents to tailor a specific teaching and learning plan based on the student's strengths and weaknesses in learning materials.
Per education, I am a first-year student majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a minor in Mathematics at Johns Hopkins University. I graduated high school with a 5 in AP Calculus AB and a 5 in AP Chemistry. I received the Excellence in Chemistry Award and Valedictorian (1/556) at my high school in Portland, OR. Did you see your student expressed an interest in becoming a scientist/researcher, or any STEM-related career pathways? Great! I have one full year of research at an NCI-designated cancer center in Oregon under Oregon Health & Sciences University. I am also in a lab working on nanoparticles and engineering immune cells for cancer research at Johns Hopkins. I also specialize in professional development within the research world, and I received the Outstanding Poster Award for the Research Internship Symposium at the Knight Cancer Institute in Oregon. I have also taken a professional development class. Overall, I am a well-rounded person who can inspire students to pursue STEM, the field that has long been stereotyped with words that often deplete the passion of many students!
