Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before scheduling a new student, I assess the needs of the student through formal questionnaire. I review past academic record, and speak with their teacher (for those in K-12).
After we assess the problem areas, we create a plan around those areas and review based on time contracted (weekly). All students are given organization skill building and test taking skills along with tutoring.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 15 years classroom experience and nine years private tutor experience. I am an award winning educator and academic coach. I served as a former tutor with Huntington Learning Center. I have taught Pre-K through 12 grades in the subject matter listed. I have over a decade of teaching experience with special needs students, including autism spectrum. I have taught in the public and private sector, both secular and religious environments, from wealthy to at- risk. I have yet to meet a student who did not rise to the expectation of improvement.
