About

I have been a teacher and tutor for over 20 years. I am a certified public school teacher who has worked with students of all grade levels from Elementary School up through High School.

My students make tremendous growth. On average, as a public school teacher, my students grew over one and a half grade levels, and he supported some students to grow by as many as three grade levels in a single year.

I am comfortable teaching math for all levels through calculus. I can also teach computer programming--I helped created Yananza.com, a web app for students to master their basic math facts. Besides that, I am a certified Wilson literacy coach who has helped students with reading disabilities learn to read, and I have supported many students to boost their SAT scores.

If you want to support your child to realize their own genius, get in touch with me!

I love working with kids! I love being part of the process of discovery and watching a student gain confidence through developing mastery.

Mr. Peace is a wonderful teacher. He has a calming aura to him, and a deep emotional intelligence which he uses to help children bring out their best. He invests himself wholeheartedly in his students, going out of his way to provide an enriching education. We have a child who had a hard time in other classes, felt overwhelmed by his classmates, and struggled with his own strong feelings. Mr. Peace took the time to calm him, teach him to meditate, and provided specific praise and goals which really helped to center and light a fire in our son. Of all the teachers weve met and had over the years, Mr. Peace is the one he will will never forget, and the only one who still keeps in contact, even years later. I honestly wish we could clone Mr Peace because if we did, the world would be better for it.

    Frequently asked questions

I get to know the student as a person--find out what interests them and what motivates them.

Then I give them some informal assessments to determine what level they are at and where we need to begin.  I talk to them and their parents about the results.

Then we can start!  We work at the student's level, keeping them motivated and feeling good about their progress.
