About

I am a recently retired certified math teacher with 27 years of experience teaching 7-8th grade math, as well as tutoring students after school. I’ve been voted teacher of the year in Bristol County, and chosen by many students in Attleboro as a teacher that affected their love for the subject of math, for which I received an award from the City of Attleboro. I am known for being an innovative instructor who finds ways to reach students at their level and help them to reach their potential.

I love helping students to develop a love for math, and gain confidence in their mathematically abilities. I’ve always enjoyed figuring out new ways to help students grasp concepts that they’ve been struggling with, helping them to become more successful in their academic career.

Frequently asked questions

I always like to meet with the students and interview them to get an understanding of what they are hoping to achieve by being tutored as well as where they are struggling.

I am a certified math teacher with 27 years experience teaching math.

I charge $50 an hour.

I started teaching after I had my 3 children.  I wanted to make an impact on students’ understanding of mathematical concepts in a way that made sense to them.  My experience with being a math student was one of frustration, in that I was very able to use the procedures I was taught, but never understood why they worked.  I started teaching because I wanted to help students understand why a method works, not just how to do it.

I have worked with students at all levels of ability.  I have had students with IEPs, students who don’t speak English well, and students with emotional challenges, and have had success with all of them.

I would advise the student to ask questions and get to know the teacher before agreeing to work with them.  One of the most important aspects of success with a tutor is the relationship that the teacher and student have.
