On this platform and on wyzant.com I am on of the top rated tutors in Boston, and it’s not an accident - I love what I do, and I get results
The following story tells you almost everything you need to know about me and my methods and my success rate - While helping a student with calculus, she spontaneously exclaimed, "This is the most fun I've had in math all year!" This was coming from an average student whose goal was "don't fail math." But after working with her for a few months, she got an 'A'. Another student recently texted me "that was the most productive hour of math in my life"
This is my goal for all my students - to enjoy themselves, to enjoy learning, and to strive for excellence.
My Background: I have been a full-time classroom teacher, I have taught summer school, and I have tutored many students, from 10 year olds to law students and everything in between!
Specialties and Qualifications: Math - I majored in Applied Mathematics at Harvard, I scored a 5 on the Calculus BC Advanced Placement Exam, and achieved a perfect score on the SAT II Mathematics test.
Standardized Tests - I tutor all the major standardized tests, including the verbal/reading/writing sections. I have helped students improve their scores on the SSAT, the ACT, the SAT, the GRE, the GMAT, and the LSAT. I have helped students get into elite private schools and into college. I have helped older students get into business school and law school and I'm sure I can help you!
I have taught everything from pre-algebra through pre-calculus when I was a full time teacher at an elite private school in St Louis, Missouri. That included the full progression of Algebra, Algebra II, Trigonometry etc. I have also tutored the SAT and the LSAT many times. I scored 99th percentile on the SAT (perfect score on current scale) and 95th on the LSAT. In all I have over 20 years of experience with countless students in many different subjects. I relate well to young people and I will make our lessons fun and enjoyable - if learning is fun then it becomes easy and interesting.
Thanks for your time and consideration, and best of luck in your studies!!!

I love teaching and everything about it! I do what I love and I love what I do - what could be better than this?!?! I have worked as a full time classroom teacher and as a tutor and I wouldn't trade this for anything.
Ajay was a great help with High School Pre-Calc, Calc and SAT test prep! He has been a great tutor for our son.
SAT Tutoring with Ajay resulted in 120 point improvement in less than 2 months. So long as your student comes prepared with practice tests completed, the sessions are focused and productive.
He is able to teach to the specific needs of the student very well. He teaches you all of what you need and none of what you don't. I really appreciate that. Furthermore, he offers a lot of great advice and doesn't waste your time. Highly recommended.
Ajay did a great job of preparing me for the GMAT exam. He taught me a few tips and tricks and gave me the confidence I needed to improve my score more than 50 points. I would definitely recommend Ajay to others in my situation.

I started tutoring in college many years ago.
All kinds! Youngest would be around 4th grade. Oldest was a woman in her 60s going back to grad school for professional reasons.
See above - when a student who was seeking simply to pass the course ended up loving calculus and having fun learning it!
Be willing to pay for someone with experience doing this full time.
