About this tutor

I have been tutoring for 20 years.  I have two degrees and work well with all levels with a focus on elementary and middle school reading, writing, English, math, test taking, organizational and study skills and motivating the average learner to improve their grades and test taking abilities.

My students currently range from Kindergarten through grade eight. I work with students who are functioning at all levels of the curriculum including the ESOL learner and the mild to moderate special learning needs learner.  I have a very patient, compassionate way with my students as a highly skilled teacher. I guarentee you will improve your motivation, grades and grade level and advanced skills.

You may call, email or text me once for information and to set up a consultation by phone or in person.  My schedule fills very fast.  I am accepting summer and fall students.

Thanks for reaching out

Rates vary according to skill levels, work needed, distance to travel to my students' homes or library, etc.

My work is very important to me. Not only do I really really like to see my students succeed in their assignments, projects, skills and tests, I encourage them to learn more of what they need at an advanced level whether they are new or accelerating English learners, remedial learners or average to above average students.

You may contact me at any time for credentials.   [email protected]

Currently, for this school year, I have Tuesday, Wednesday evenings and some hours during the weekends free.

I am also accepting students for the summer and fall.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to get to know the student by his/her cultural and academic interests first.  I prepare a skills and interest assessment of which I have several from my career search work I have used in the past.

Once this is done, I do a reading and writing sample with feeback and ask many questions about my student's goals and hopes and dreams in life.

I am open to working any way that is helpful to my students.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have two degrees in education  and specialized reading and language training in special education through my professional development of several years.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I price according to the work you need, the number of sessions a week you need, whether there is a sibling who also needs tutoring, your distance from me, and  if you send me referrals.  My fees range from $75.00 to $100
