About
I am a young, technologically savvy teacher who is eager to work with elementary-aged students. I have just recently graduated from a one-year graduate program at Lesley University to earn my M.Ed., Elementary License, SEI Endorsement, and ESL License to teach in Massachusetts. I love incorporating movement and creative expression into teaching, and genuinely connecting with students! I will work as a Second Grade ESL Teacher at Potter Road Elementary School in the Framingham Public School District during the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.
I love getting to know students - not just in terms of what they like to do to learn, but also things like what other languages they speak, what things do they like to do in their free time, what their favorite foods are, and more. I also love to see students enjoy learning, and I see that this happens when they are most interested and engaged. I love using hands-on activities, real-world examples, and movement, to increase students' excitement about learning.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I will first focus on getting to know the student. This includes asking questions about background and interests, and academic preferences such as learning preferences, academic strengths, and areas for academic improvement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I recently graduated from a one-year Lesley University Graduate Program and earned my Masters in Education, Initial Elementary License, SEI Endorsement, and Initial ESL License. I also received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Muhlenberg College (a liberal arts school in Allentown, Pennsylvania) with a Dance Major, Education Concentration. I completed the Elementary Education Program there, which included 7 fieldwork placements (classrooms ranging from K to 5th grade, and in both urban and suburban placements). I completed a Professional Semester of Student Teaching, which included lead teaching in two 7-week placements.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rate is $15 - $25 per lesson. Lessons last for approximately 45 minutes to an hour long.
How did you get started teaching?
As I noted above, I completed fieldwork placements and a student teaching placement through undergraduate school. I completed full-year graduate program through Lesley University this 2019-2020 year focusing on Elementary Education and teaching English Language Learners. For the school year of 2020-2021, I am hired as a Second Grade ESL Teacher at a Framingham Public School in Massachusetts.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students in grades K through 5, in urban and suburban settings. I have worked with English language learners (as included in mainstream classrooms, in a Pull-Out ESL setting, and in SEI Self-contained classrooms, and in Newcomer classrooms). I have worked with students with disabilities (including autism spectrum disorder, anxiety disorders, and learning disabilities).
