About
I’m Victor! I graduated from the University of Maryland University College in 2014 with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. Prior to that, I was an active duty soldier in the U.S. Army.
After receiving my bachelor’s degree, I decided to pursue a career in education. I began teaching middle school math/science and loved it from day one!
I then received my Master’s of Education in Middle School Mathematics and Science in 2017 from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
I have been teaching for six years, and just recently earned my Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership for middle school principal/assistant principal from Cambridge College in Massachusetts.
In learning, I believe that each student should be challenged to his/her full potential. In my lessons, I incorporate various strategies that are hands-on, interactive, and practical. In tutoring students in the past, I’ve found that the one-on-one time is crucial and extremely beneficial.
My focus is in middle school math and science from grades 5-8. I am very punctual and organized, easy to reach, and always up to a challenge!
Certified in middle school math
Lessons Common Core state standards-based
Teach 6th grade math, including Prealgebra
Certified in middle school science
Teach 6th grade science, including earth history, anatomy and physiology, introductory physics, and biology.
My lessons are very engaging, easy to follow, and rewarding! The key to understanding is in the explanation, something in which I have always focused on with my students on a daily basis.
I have to say that what I like most about being a teacher and a tutor is seeing a student make a connection between a previous concept and a new one! It's extremely rewarding when students have that 'aha' moment!
