High School/intro College Level Math Tutor
About
I am currently an accountant major and expect to graduate August of 2020. I graduated high school in three years and took six math courses, I like math if you couldn’t tell so far! I was a paid private tutor for my fellow classmates throughout high school and I would like to get back into it.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first ask what math course they are taking and would like help with. Then I will prepare practice exams for the students to work on and share the answers that I have done myself with explanations of what to do differently. The biggest thing is that the student has to understand that they need to put in the time to succeed, having a tutor will help but practicing with extra problems that I give you and texting me questions throughout the week is what will take them to the next level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 3 years experience as a math tutor, as well as a year of being a teachers assistant in a math class. I have the knowledge to tutor everything through college algebra.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The price depends on a few factors. As a high school student I charged $30/hr as my base rate for weekly or twice weekly tutoring. The student I worked with longest, I was able to help raise her grade from a D to a B+. I do not charge for my personal prep time to make the practice problems ahead of time. Considering I have a higher education level my base rate is now $40/hr.
How did you get started teaching?
I was recommended to start tutoring by my high school math teachers and then was being given names of students by teachers who were wanting to pay me to tutor them.
