About

I am confident in my ability to help any student, as I work to understand how and why a student is struggling, and adjust my tutoring methods as needed.

I take pride in helping my students improve their grades, and making it fun while doing so.

Frequently asked questions

When I start working with a new student, I like to have an introductory phone call with the parents and their students to get to know them and discuss the goals of our sessions.  I ask what material they'd like to work on with me, where they tend to struggle, anything they'd like to see incorporated into our sessions, and any questions they have for me.  Then, we set up the schedule for our sessions.  On our first day of tutoring, I typically ask a few questions regarding how their class is structured and what topic they are currently working on, and then we start working together on the most important materials relative to that day (homework, studying, etc.).

I graduated from Bridgewater State University with a bachelor of science in mathematics, with concentrations in pure math and statistics, and a minor in psychology.  I have worked as a private mathematics tutor for the past 7 years.

I started tutoring when I was in high school.

I have worked with students in elementary school through college.  I have experience working with students with anxiety, ADHD, learning disabilities, and IEPs.

Recently I helped one of my students improve their grades from F's to A+'s.

Hire a tutor that you believe you will connect with.  Hire someone who knows the material very well so they can teach it to you in multiple ways, as some styles might be easier for you to understand than others.

What are the areas the student is struggling with the most, be it certain subject matters, or certain assignments such as tests or quizzes?  Which styles of learning have been enjoyable and successful, and which have not?
