I am an Teaching English as a Second Langauge certified teacher. It not only trained me in how to help foreigners learn english but it also trained me to teach natives also. I can tutor through making lesson plans directed towards the individual needs of the student. I have been trained in how to manage classes, use coursebooks effectively, teach parts of speech, address difficult questions, evaluate students effectively, teach pronunciation and phonology and many other aspects of teaching English.
In terms of tutoring individually, I have had experience teaching younger children from Duxbury Middle School and have used my TEFL experience to enhance my lessons effectively. I have also had experience helping adults who have lots of english language knowledge perfect their english skills. I meet with Boston University language teachers improve their English skills since its their second language.
In terms of languages, I have studied Advanced Chinese and intermediate Japanese at Boston University. I have attended Fudan University for the Summer and attended Keio University for the Spring semester.
I love helping others in attaining the means to getting what they want from life and being able to have the correct knowledge to do so.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When starting off with new students I start off with an evaluation as to where their skills lie. Then I get to know their interests and try to accommodate the lessons to their personal interests so the lessons are more engaging and memorable.

Ive always wanted to learn new languages so in order to do so I have learned that I have to master not only other languages but also my own language.
