About
I began tutoring in 2017, tutoring Geometry, Algebra, and English. I worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer for two years, teaching English as a Foreign Language to Grades 5-9. During my undergraduate studies, I honed my skills writing and editing personal statements, cover letters, and resumes during the time that I spent working in my college's career center.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It is important for me to understand a student's goals--what they are hoping to achieve in the subject on which we are focused--and their current level of achievement. Having this conversation allows me to understand what type of situation I am entering with my student--if it is a "maintenance" arrangement so that the student can brush up on a few confusing concepts--or if it is a "repair" situation--the student is struggling in class and we need to drastically improve their performance.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I underwent an intensive three-month Teaching English as a Foreign Language training in preparation for my Peace Corps service. In addition, my college degree in English has equipped me with polished writing and editing abilities.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I currently charge $40/hr., and I require payment upfront.
How did you get started teaching?
I was hired by Peace Corps to teach English. In the months leading up to my departure for Peace Corps, I tutored high school students in math, and I tutored adult immigrants in English and Math.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with adult students who were ESL learners, high school math students, and Zambian middle and high school students who were learning English as a Foreign Language, as well as basic algebra concepts.
