My name is Deja Foster and I have over 7 years of experience as a english language arts teacher and student advocate, I’m also a mother, and have been a tutor to name just a few of my many roles!

I specialize in creating curriculum plans that utilize my unique ability to form relationships with youth that support in identifying their motivations and using such to create engaging curricula that further enhances and strengthens their current skills in writing, reading, and speaking.

I have had experience in tutoring students in: SAT PREP, writing support, private school entrance exam/ private school application support, the college application and personal statement process, elementary- secondary english language arts, 6-8 humanities courses, study and executive functioning skills to name a few.

I am currently seeking families interested in the signing up for tutoring sessions 2-3x times a week. Times, prices, and location can be negotiated. Please Message me if interested in learning more.

Previous experience:

5 years teaching secondary English language arts in Boston public high schools.

2 years teaching SAT preparation at a high school level.

1 year teaching 9th grade English language arts at Lawrence High school.

1 year teaching and serving as a career advisor and job placement coach for Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology.

2 years serving as a language teacher during the summer to struggling and advance Chinese students at ASC.

2 years experience nannying children ages 10 months to 5 years of age.
